Hostess.
Quiet afternoon. A warm & humble confidence, as though I’ve entered someone’s home.
Waitress.
Sensing my ‘wanting to be by myself’, she left me be, only entering on the appropriate entrance ramps. An unusual rythym for Austin.
Side-Sip Complement.
Complimentary Margarita, using not exactly the finest ingredients, but a nice pour to keep inspiration until the liquor license is approved (mid-August?)… Nice move.
First Bites.
Bean Dip. Chips & Salsa. Fresh, made to my taste at the table.
Second Round.
Shrimp Ceviche. Not from Town Lake. Hit the spot.
Third Round.
Empanadas de Camaron. Fried version of the ceviche? Just the right amount of fresh lime, tomatoes, onions, and avocados.
Final Round.
Enchiladas Marinas.
Shrimp & Crab. Seeing a theme?
Two of the three times I’ve been there, I was with my wife and 2 boys.
Both sides of the couple that appears to own Casa Chapala (especially La Senora) went out of the way to bring calmness to our ‘little-one-at-the-table experience’, a thoughtful and appreciated gift that only adds warmth to the experience.
Shopping Center aside… Glad Chapala has arrived.

With 2 rounds of consistent play, Austin’s Casa Chapala is riding strong.
